How-to: Add Search to Google Reader

It’s pretty unbecoming for a search giant like Google to not add search functionality to Google Reader. Fortunately this situation isn’t so bleak for Firefox users who happened to have greasemonkey installed. This greasemonkey script adds a search box to Google Reader which also lets you to chronologically sort results and limit results count.

Bonus points if you happen to use Google Reader offline using Gears, because this greasemonkey script enables you to perform search on 2000 recently synced offline items. Both these scripts have their own limitations, but until Google adds search to Google Reader, these scripts are definitely worth a try.
